How does online therapy work?

After you schedule an appointment, you'll receive a secure link to join your video session at the scheduled time. Simply click the link from your computer, tablet, or smartphone. You'll meet face-to-face with your therapist over video, just like an in-person session. Sessions typically last 50 minutes and follow the same evidence-based approaches we use in our office.

Is online therapy covered by my insurance?

Yes. Most insurance plans cover telehealth therapy sessions at the same rate as in-person visits. We accept Medi-Cal, Medicare, Partnership HealthPlan of California, Anthem, Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, and 30+ other plans.

Is online therapy HIPAA compliant and secure?

Absolutely. Our telehealth platform uses end-to-end encryption and meets all HIPAA security requirements. Your sessions are never recorded or stored, and all personal health information is protected with the same safeguards as in-person visits.

Can I switch between online and in-person sessions?

Yes. If you live near our Red Bluff office in Tehama County, you can use a mix of online and in-person sessions based on your preference and schedule. Many clients appreciate the flexibility of doing most sessions online while occasionally coming into the office.

What do I need for an online therapy session?

You'll need a device with a camera and microphone (smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer), a stable internet connection, and a quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted. We recommend using headphones for extra privacy.
